This is Metatron's cube. Well actually it's an incomplete Metatron's cube. A complete metatron's cube is 3d.
This is an example of advanced mathematics used in early religions. It's also a tesseract.

Also note in the article that an unfolded net of a tesseract is a cross.
With such a high degree of mathematics involved it's very facisnating. It almost seems divinely inspired. ;)

Also note the multiple Stars of David clearly visible within the image. And, atleast to me, this looks reminiscent of the "Tree of Life" involved in Kabbalah. Heres a link to the wikipedia article.
