The '07 version is out, so they are again making the prior season's edition a free download!!
The backgrounds are a little nicer, they've added mouse-over effects and the layout is pretty consistent with 2005. Although you will see a splash screen promoting their 2007 software for sale; that is a very, very low price to play for free entertainment!
They also tout updated rosters, statistics, added a number of league leaderboard categories, has a slightly more refined minor-league system and a noticeably more complex (and realistic?) negotiation procedure. They've even added player characteristics and general mood as to being happy, sad or content. While it will take a while to get used to negotiations, it's easy to see playing this from now on (even if no new upgrades or versions available). I've created a league with all fictional players, equalized cities and am playing the Kansas City Royals.. with a 3-2 record thus far.
