You mean the advertisement attempt that scared everyone into thinking it was a terrorist attack? It's crazy! It shws how paranoid people have become.........

It really shows just how safe we are when the people we trust to keep us safe from attacks can't tell the difference between a clever ad and a bomb.

I think it's good that they were cautious, but bad that they're trying to divert their stupidity towards the people hired to put the advertisements up.

I think this shows how law enforcement officials as well as government officials feel the need to create a scene in order to look good because the overly paranoid citizens report anything and everything that might remind them of a bomb, no matter how stupid. And the aftermath of the event shows that creating a scene is indeed making them look good.

It seems like an excellent marketing technique. It got them more press than they ever could of imagined.

After reading the details more closely. No one should be held responsible for this other than Boston. The two guys hired to post them up should be released, not even tried. By the way check out their press release:

yes, what I find fascinating is the following set of facts that were obviously overlooked by Boston.
1) These ads ran in at least 5 other cities, one of them being New York, the SITE of the 9/11 attacks. The police there managed to figure out that it wasn't a bomb and not shut down major roads to remove them.
2) They were hung at least 3 days prior to lighting. That makes you feel REAL safe doesn't it.
3) They were lightbright (for all intents and purposes) with clear plastic backing, meaning anyone who knew anything about bombs should have been able to glance at it and know that it wasn't a bomb.
What have we learned? Don't walk around with a light bright in Boston or you'll get yourself thrown in jail.
