Description: Gore

Scandal! The US government's dishonesty will never cease to amaze me. What a pity that Al Gore doesn't run for 2008...

US gov't dishonesty? The white house leans on a few scientists, and you're upset about the evil US government?
What will never cease to amaze me is how ready some people are to pull up the same, tired old statement that governments are corrupt (*gasp!*) and show off mock amazement at it. A person in the administration that now works for ExxonMobil (yeah, no bias there), oh noes!
Now that we got that out of the way...
Yeah, bad, but there has been a change, at least in what is being said, concerning the direction of environmental policy (like admitting that there is such a thing). Global Warming isn't a secret being tucked away by the big bad government, nobody is treating it as such anymore.

The reason why we "show off mock amazement" at it is because we have been lead to believe that our government is that perfect government that isn't corrupt when, infact, it is when of the most corrupt in the history of the governments.
Unlike many other corrupt regimes, the United States government has earned the trust of it's citizens and is now taking advantage of that trust.
Pearl Harbor and 9/11 are perfect examples of that. FDR knew about Pearl Harbor and I strongly believe that our own government planned (or atleast helped plan) 9/11 for economic reasons and for the benefit of our own leaders greedy pockets.
An Inconvenient Truth is a great book and movie by Gore that many should try to read/watch when they get a chance. Global Warming is something that we and the rest of the world needs to pay attention to.
We are digging our own graves.

Then most of us become 13.

I think Stalin would be sad that the United States of America took his title. Or do you mean that "this administration is one of the most corrupt in American history?" If so, I'd say you're pretty close, not entirely sure who'd be number 1.

Wrong topic, but really, 9/11 wasn't an "inside job." People really need to get over that one. To help people, I've made this topic:

I'll agree with that. It was, by far, the best power point presentation that I've ever seen.

I meant to say that it is ONE of the most corrupt governments. I accidentally typed "when" for some reason. Sorry for any confusion that it caused. I wasn't saying that the American Government is the single most corrupt of all.
It wasn't the wrong topic, I was just backing my point up.
You say that "then most people become 13", but in many parts of the nation, particularly the more conservative regions, America's government is portrayed and taught as being perfect all the way up until college.

While that certainly does make more sense, I'd have to disagree until a greater scale of reference is given to compare the US government to.
But again, extent of corruption really is a different topic, feel free to make it if you want though, I imagine it would be interesting ;)

I suppose I was referring to a mental age.
